Ross Williams

Ruminant Commercial Manager

Ross hails from a Somerset farming background and studied Agricultural Science (Animal) at SAC (now SRUC), graduating with BSc (Hons) and gaining significant additional on-farm dairy and lambing experience. Ross worked with NFU Scotland as Regional Policy Manager for the North East and Highland Regions before joining Norvite as a Feed Adviser in 2007. His aptitude and expertise has seen Ross progress through the company, in line with its significant expansion.

Ross manages the sales team throughout the country, as well as maintaining key relationships with suppliers and merchants and purchasing cereals for production. He thrives on working with customers and has a particular affinity for those with pedigree herds and flocks, responding to their nutritional requirements with back-up from the Technical Department. He finds the most rewarding part of his role is to see problems solved on farm and to get top performance out of livestock, resulting in maximum returns whether for pedigree or commercial animals.

Ross farms with his wife (an SAC Beef & Sheep Consultant) and family on the MacRobert Trust’s Douneside Estate at Tarland, with a well-known pedigree enterprise, commercial sheep, suckler cows, B&B pigs, arable crops and Farm Fresh turkeys. They were award-winners in the 2020 British Farming Awards New Entrants category and the summer season is always busy for the family, with showing having led to wins at the Royal Highland Show.
