As a progressive business, Norvite’s infrastructure has developed in line with, and often ahead of, advancements in technology and customer requirements. From a modest foundation in a traditional carpenters croft at Wardhouse, Insch, today we have blending plants in Aberdeenshire and Ayrshire, we operate high-tech Buschoff mobile mill & mix machinery and we boast a state-of-the-art mineral supplements mill. Mineral supplements and protein concentrates for cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry continue to be very much our core business.
Recognising the environmental value of locally produced oil as an alternative to soya and palm oils and seeing a need for an alternative high energy protein source, in 2015 we commissioned the bespoke NEOS plant for cold-pressing oil seeds. From this, we produce NEOflo cold pressed rapeseed oil, NEOpro high-energy, high-protein feed and the innovative NEOlac rumen-protected feed.
The NEOS family of products, including NEOflo, NEOpro and NEOlac increased its sustainable credentials with the commissioning of a solar array on the roof of the plant. Installed by local specialists AES Solar of Forres and covering the entire roof of the NEOS plant, this renewable energy source will generate 94000kwh of electricity per annum, saving at least 44 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year, as well as providing further reassurance to farmers who choose to do the right thing by Feeding Better, Feeding Less.
Our ALpHA alkaline pH additive provides a valuable tool for our customers to enhance their homegrown cereal at harvest, reducing the requirements for bought-in feeds.
As Norvite continues to innovate, utilising our wealth of technical knowledge of rumen nutrition we have developed BIOboost. This unique supplement is a combination of Pre-Biotics, Pro-Biotics and Trace Elements and is specifically designed to improve microbial activity and stability of anaerobic digesters, which in turn improves biogas generation.
